What is ILLiad?

ILLiad is Tennessee State Libraries and Media Centers Interlibrary Loan system, which replaces our previous ILL system.

How is ILLiad better?

  • You should find it easier to submit your ILL requests by entering your name, address, and other personal information when you submit your first request through ILLiad.

  • Requests will have a much faster turnaround time and should result in fewer mistakes, since problems relating to misinterpretation of handwritten requests will be eliminated.

  • You will be able to check on the status of your request on our website at any time.

Any disadvantages to this system?

As with any new system, it will take some time to become comfortable with logging on to ILLiad to submit a request using a username and password.  However, we believe that it will be less cumbersome than the traditional paper systems which require you to submit personal information every time you request an item through interlibrary loan.

Who is eligible to use ILLiad?

Any student, faculty or staff member with a valid Tennessee State University ID, username and password will be eligible to use ILLiad.   We recommend that others use the public library in their area to make interlibrary loan requests.

How do I submit requests?

  • Go to the TSU Library Home Page.

  • Click on the ILLiad or the Interlibrary Loan link.

  • Register with ILLiad by supplying appropriate information (e. g. name, address, ID number, etc.)

  • Choose type of item requested (e. g. book, article, or chapter from a book.)

  • Before submitting request, check your request history to avoid ordering the same item twice.

  • Fill out appropriate form for your type of request.

  • Submit request.
